Dr Umi Kalthum's areas of interest include refractive surgery, cataract surgery, as well as cornea and external eye diseases. In addition to conducting research in these fields, she has also explored other areas, including diabetic eye diseases, eye infections, and refractive errors in children. Currently, she is actively involved in organisations such as the Asia Cornea Society and the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology.
